News: Justin Bieber to compose Evil Dead remake soundtrack
In a move that has sent shock-waves through the horror community, teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber has been approached by renowned horror director Sam Raimi and actor Bruce Campbell to write and record the soundtrack for the upcoming Evil Dead remake. The clean faced superstar, known for mega-hits like “Baby” and “One Less Lonely Girl”, is said to be over the moon with the decision. “I know I can add my own personal flavor to it,” FA Kreatif Entertainment weekly quoted Bieber as saying, “I’m glad my talent is finally being recognized by fringe players in the entertainment industry too”.
The mop-haired wonder is reportedly looking to “write an emotional power-ballad about a girl being sad that her boyfriend left her, while also being afraid that demons will possess her”, and hopes to perform this with R&B sensation Rihanna. “We feel like Rihanna and the Beebs are already partly lost in the woods,” said Raimi, “and they can bring horror to a whole new crowd of screaming 12 year old girls, a huge untapped market for horror. Fans of the original film shouldn’t be upset; they should be thanking us for making it accessible to non-traditional audiences”.
Asked if the move would affect the movies “R” rating, Raimi said that some of the more violent and overtly sexual material would be cut from the movie, and be implied rather than shown on screen. “We’re hoping to give it more of a Monsters Inc feel,” Bruce Campbell added.
The Evil Dead remake is expected to be released some time in 2013. Do you think this is a good move? Post in the comments below.

God damn it! I feel SO violated! You got me! Bang on the gullible bone!
Argh!!!
You know, the sad thing is that something like this wouldn’t surprise me if it actually happened. Props to you for it’s believability, I guess. So many fresh-faced, ‘Hollywood’ faces are going to ‘star’ in this remake, but perhaps they were hired for their acting skills [a rarity in Hollywood these days] rather than solely for their marketability. A teen pop sensation/no talent little wimp like Bieber doing the OST would top off the mountain of doo-doo that this film is looking to become. I’m not optimistic about this ‘re-imagining’ as you can presumably tell. One thing I will say is that Bruce Campbell, IMO, should NOT star in it. He’s too old and if the film is to take the darker tone of the original and up the voltage so to speak then he isn’t a fitting actor for the role.
I didn’t even read the friggin’ article L-O-L. The headline alone was enough to make me dizzy like a drunk deadite playing twister! X)
Hahaha, sorry about that. Not a fan of remakes myself, and like you, I’m not too optimistic about the movie. But I do hope they don’t stoop THAT low!
dont do it bruce and raime
you done messed up the storyline not putting ash in it now you gonna mess up the soundtrack
